Case Study On Truth - Specialist Study
The idea of truth can been seen differently for example using media to misrepresent politics and others things such as culture and technology . even in the media industry, the truth is definitely in the eye . the media product i have chosen is actually a media product from the powerpoint “ truth in media and audience”, I have picked hypernormalisation , in such short words hypernormalisation is the cyber world and how it is seen as the alternative truth to the lies politicians tell . social media also known as web 2.0 , the cyber world has faculated individualism . social media itself makes it hard to find the truth because everything that is said on social media is either made up or based on what you hear around you , in terms of the TRUTH social media is probably the most unreliable source out there because in my opinion it's not hard core facts its an opinions being thrown out there .
Here is a general example of social media and how it can trick others , a quote from the source .“ Parents are being warned of a fresh online threat to children from social media influencers who look real and post photos of themselves with other celebrities, but are in fact digital creations of the advertising industry” This is just how manipulating social media can become especially for the younger generation that doesn't really know any better . A common social media app would have to be “instagram” apps like that you can use photoshop to change the way you actually look , social media has such a huge impact on everyone . This article is mainly addressing “fake influencers” and how they use their followings to get brand deals and sponsorships . The way this article links to the truth is that a social media influencer could say anything , and it could be interpreted in anyway for example they could address something about politics e.g It could be argued that with climate change activism and #MeToo, there has been a shift online back to collective action.
In this article shows how the truth can be twisted , even when it comes to culture and politics because of someone’s following they could potentially say what they want , and because of their huge following especially if it's the younger generation it tends to be believed in most cases which could be very impactful not just for the internet but real life situations , something can be taken out of context very quickly , and it's all down to who that person is on the internet , even though that person isn't really famous for anything just what they post on social media. This product was made by Robert booth , who is a social affairs correspondent who has made many other articles relating back to the “fake news “ ideas.
Who made this product ? - It was directed by Kelechi Jude and produced by Brandon Dixon and the screenplay was written by Lance D white , this product was made on march 4th 2015 .This short film is about abuse between a man and a woman but typically the man is abusing the women , domestically . I believe this film was created to create awareness , and uncover the truth about why someone might be getting abused at home . It shows how someone might just abuse you because they want to feel superior or that they have a hierarchy . Some may say that abuse is a way of loving someone .

Technically this short film is extremely stop on with how to tell a story through the camera “eyes” each frame is a key fragment and a significant part of telling the story for example in this short film they used at (0.52 seconds) a close up shot of the women face as pure worry was captured through her expressions .

Cinematic Realism - Is neither a genre or a movement and it has neither rigid formal cinema or subject matter . The main features of realism , is that it focuses on real life , especially in theatre they speak about real people in everyday situations , dealing with common problems. In film history one of the most contested terms in the history of cinema . Realism is not simply an illusion , that's what Werner Herzog declared . realism is just real film .
Kenneth loach - Kenneth Charles Loach is an English filmmaker. His socially critical directing style and socialist ideals are evident in his film treatment of social issues such as poverty, homelessness, and labour rights. ( using truth in films) . Ken Loach work is considered landmarks of social realism . Loach continue to address issues on television and later in theatrical releases as well . His first feature film (poor cow) released in 1967 , focuses on the life of a working class woman whose husband is in jail , it was followed by poignant Kes (1970) , about a boy , abused at home and school , who befriends a fledgling kestrel , it got an award.
I am going to base my idea on real life based films such as blue story which is a modern day which is referring to gang violence and knife crime and one big issue which is postcode wars which actually occur in today's society .We could explore whether there is truth in modernised films . I’d be incorporating a lot of aspects of realism into making this project , but I will allow the camera to be doing all the talking , I don’t think I will be using dialogue if I am going to be using dialogue it would have to be as little as possible , because sound tends to play a huge role in films but sometimes dialogue could be the downfall to your film , so I would rather use an instrumental , to help emphasize the concept and the truth in the film , I really think the audience would capture all the emotions used in the film . I have not really thought about a genre or concept or theme , but I have a brief idea about the storyline , I might just base it around 1 person or two people with a love story .
To conclude my case study I have decided to do a cinematic realism short film about abuse , and how the truth can be capture through the power of just pure footage , maybe little bit of dialogue but I want the camera to capture every part of the storyline , without having to hear what the actors are saying , truth can be
